What is personalised nutrition at FooDee?
FooDee Nutrition offers personalised nutrition advice that seeks to promote health, performance and quality of life. Nutritional Therapy is an evidence based approach, taking the latest research and evidence in nutrition and health science and working with you to practically apply these concepts into your everyday life. Nutritional Therapy works by supporting the body systems, we understand that how you eat has just as much an impact as what you eat. I help you by addressing individual nutrient and lifestyle imbalances tailoring your care to meet YOUR needs, and ensuring you understand how to practically apply the most relevant nutrition information for your body. The beauty of this kind of therapy is that NTs are skilled coaches who are trained to help you realise your own health goals. We will support, guide, facilitate what you already know, what you want to know and what you choose to prioritise in order to look, feel and live better.
“No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.”
H.E. Luccock
My approach is as suggested above MULTI-FACTORIAL. Just as we need an orchestra to whistle a good symphony, your BODY has many elements that work in symphony so it can SING its tune. I take the time to listen to your life story, discovering possible root causes of your symptoms. It is this investigative and individual approach that we take that will help you unravel some of the triggers that may be compounding the effects you are feeling from a life being lived with less vitality. Things we explore include sleeping patterns, physical activity, eating patterns, tools for managing stress, food beliefs, cooking ability, self-care practices and many more. In understanding what is triggering your symptoms, I assist you to cleverly reduce the triggers so that you can SING everyday.
Health has been defined as physical, mental and social wellbeing. That means that your energy bank is full enough for you to live your life full of energy and enthusiasm. Does that mean that you cannot live a healthy life if you have a chronic condition, a hectic lifestyle? It is my mission to support you so that that statement is not true.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
When it comes to Nutrition, one size definitely does not fit all. This is why Nutritional Therapy is for EVERYONE. We recognise each person as an individual with unique requirements, we take time to consider your personal space and define personalised nutrition plans. We look to support each of the body systems so that you can live full of energy and vitality. Some of my clients simply want to know if they are on the right track. Some people seek support around choosing the best foods and supplement to correct nutrient imbalances. Other people wish to manage the symptoms of their conditions through diet and lifestyle using food to bring some resilience back to their life.
Nutritional therapy works from philosophy that we are all biochemically individual and therefore all nutrition and lifestyle advice should made relevant to the person, taking their age, life-stage, economic status, health status, culture snap food values into consideration as part of the process. This is why each set of recommendations are tailored to each individual goals, ability to make change and sustain change. This includes carefully selected dietary recommendations, practical meal suggestions and recipes.
What is Life Coaching?
Most of us are striving for something; career progression, a first marathon, business growth or the much coveted balance in life. Wouldn’t it feel nice to approach even the simplest of things like doing the dishes, not feeling like you are on a deadline. The people we work with are not only fully functioning but highly functioning. However as they approach change or new tasks, overwhelm takes over and they get STUCK.
Life coaching is a partnership of self discovery where you will uncover
the strengths within that will allow you to get up and live your best life.
the behaviours that are impacting your ability to achieve what you want to achieve.
the internal power you have to feel resilient each day as you face the natural challenges of life.
Life coaching is not therapy, we are not looking into your story to resolve any trauma. Life coaching is like taking a trip around your mind that helps you unravel the knots that are impeding your performance.
As you learn that you are the instigator of your own success you will believe in yourself and you will succeed in achieving your goals, transforming how you function.
The process is usually 4-6 sessions long. We begin with a contracting session where we work together to set out the boundaries, discuss how we will both be and determine your goal for our time together. During the sessions we will use tools from NLP, transactional analysis and others to create awareness within you for what the next move it. We won’t be working on your past, however we may dip into some of the events of your life to understand how you are interacting today. All good things must come to an end, so we will also close off our work together in one session.
Why blend Life Coaching and NT?
As I completed my training in Nutritional Therapy, I realised there was a gap in what I was learning. From my personal experience, I recognised that nutrition, diets, restriction can lead to all sorts of mental and physical problems. When I meet my clients, they are very vulnerable either suffering physically with symptoms or emotionally drained from years of trying to resolve. Common issues I am seeing now are digestive struggles, thyroid fatigue and emotional eating. My cites are stressed, ashamed and just pain fed up with how they feel. It is because I can empathise with this, that I use my skills as a Life Coach to calm the nervous system. When you are running away from the bear, your brain can’t really be thinking logically. So that’s what we do, we calm, we restore faith that you are able to feel better and slowly over time, we change the food patterns that aren’t serving you.

How is this different to what I have tried before?
I am blatantly honest and direct. I say what I am hearing, I am seeing and I am sensing.
I will not see you for weight loss, I will work with your to build a better and positive relationship with yourself first and then with your food. I work on understanding physiological what’s happening in your body so that we can support your emotionally and physically. These two can only work together.
I do not use any form of restriction, until I am confident that this is the most appropriate course of action for you. I
I keep up to date with the evidence and understand that changing food habits are a complex and often tiring journey.
Most of my clients report feeling lighter after our work together. Most of my clients report they enjoy eating again. Most of my clients notice they slip up in terms and jump back on track. Most of my clients say they never feel judged.

“I started to work with FooDee to develop a better relationship with food. I was having digestive troubles suffering with very bad bloating and slow bowel movements. After I worked with Denise, I felt more positive and informed about my diet and what to add to it to make it healthier. Denise is very down to earth, she had put a lot of work into my consultation before our appointment and this was on a bank holiday weekend! Denise is very committed to her job and really wants to help her clients. Her instagram and facebook posts are informative too and can raise morale if feeling sluggish. ”
“Fantastic! Completed a 4 week course and love love loved it. So informative with simple ideas on how to make/buy/introduce those important healthy food options for myself, my husband & my children. And I would recommend it to any-one interested in making some healthy changes in an enjoyable way. We shared recipes and tried new foods, had great fun (with some lovely ladies) & all this with the wonderful Denise steering our journey. Thank you again Denise!!!! ”
“Working with Denise has helped me to rebuild my confidence and believe in myself again. During and after each session I felt totally at ease with myself and had the confidence to go out and get things done. Denise meets you where you are at in your life and is always helping you to see how things are and how they could be. If I had to sum her up in one word, it would be…genuine. ”
